How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

Sessions pane: every open session with a status light, step progress and time, plus 5-hour and weekly usage
session-dir-button
dcr-lol/claude-session-mod
A band above the prompt showing the current session's directory, with a Copy button that puts the path on the clipboard.
session-coach
kamalpreet11/claude-mods
Reviews how you ran the whole session, not one prompt: a 1 to 100 score on a red-to-green gauge, what went well, what to do differently, and the turns that were wasted. /session-coach any time; refreshes itself every 10 turns.
session-end-unpin
ulttla/claude-mod-repo
Unpins the session from the desktop app's sidebar once you ask to end it and Claude finds nothing left: the end-of-session steps done, no question, decision or follow-up waiting
session-board
oshnilia/claude-plugins
Desktop mod for people who run many sessions: a task brief with criteria and authority at the start, Claude works alone and calls you only for blockers, an acceptance screen and an HTML report at the end. A free mode for brainstorming and prototypes keeps the ideas and ends with a summary. The task folder keeps the ledger, so compaction loses nothing.
session-hub
bqnhat/claude-local-plugins
One Mod status pane for Claude Code Desktop with an icon rail: Progress (live plan bars with step times and history, forked from zycck/claude-mods plan-progress), Next steps (up to three suggested next prompts; a click puts one in the composer), Skills & agents (the skills and agents called this session, each tagged personal, project, plugin or built-in, plus the rule and CLAUDE.md files loaded) and Cache (cache reads, writes and hit rate per turn, and what the cache saved). One footer entry opens the pane; the terminal keeps the progress band and the next-steps band
