How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

auto-model
aecheman27-gif/claude-mods
Picks the model per prompt with local rules: quick questions to Haiku, writing and explaining to Sonnet, building and fixing to Opus. The whole conversation always goes along; it switches only when the other model's prompt-cache re-read costs little.
slicer-handoff
2joeldg/claude-mods
Hands models to the right slicer: full-spectrum (Snapmaker U1) files Claude tries to open in Bambu Studio go to Snapmaker Orca instead, and previous slicer windows are gently quit first so they don't pile up. /slice opens a file the same way.
session-pins
1Akash001uts/claude-mods
Pin notes to a session: /pin keeps them on show above the prompt and in Claude's system prompt, so they hold through compaction and come back on resume
session-sync
3Plagemes/claude-mods
Coordinates sessions working on the same repo: file leases against conflicts, overlap warnings and hand-offs.
honest-exit
pourya7/claude-code-mods
Make silent shell failures loud: a glob that matched nothing, a command missing from the agent's shell, or a pipe that hid a failing exit status gets a note the model reads and a peach pixel-art toast.
handoff
1LupusMalusDeviant/mod-box
/handoff writes a handoff note to .claude/handoff.local.md; a new session offers to continue from it.
