Claude Code mod
auto-model
Picks the model per prompt with local rules: quick questions to Haiku, writing and explaining to Sonnet, building and fixing to Opus. The whole conversation always goes along; it switches only when the other model's prompt-cache re-read costs little.

How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

FAQ
What is auto-model?
Picks the model per prompt with local rules: quick questions to Haiku, writing and explaining to Sonnet, building and fixing to Opus. The whole conversation always goes along; it switches only when the other model's prompt-cache re-read costs little. It is a mod for Claude Code, from aecheman27-gif/claude-mods on GitHub.
What can the auto-model mod access?
Its widest reach is "writes or runs" (drives Claude, reads mod state, persists state, draws). It sees every prompt. It draws in AbovePrompt. Like any mod, it runs with your permissions.
How do I install auto-model?
Inside Claude Code (v2.1.287 or later), run /plugin marketplace add aecheman27-gif/claude-mods and then /plugin install auto-model@my-claude-mods.
More memory & instructions mods
session-pins
1Akash001uts/claude-mods
Pin notes to a session: /pin keeps them on show above the prompt and in Claude's system prompt, so they hold through compaction and come back on resume
flaky-memory
12KilimcininKorOglu/claude-code-mods
Remembers which tests failed on which code, and tells the model when a failing test has both passed and failed on the same code, so it runs the test again instead of changing code.
honest-exit
pourya7/claude-code-mods
Make silent shell failures loud: a glob that matched nothing, a command missing from the agent's shell, or a pipe that hid a failing exit status gets a note the model reads and a peach pixel-art toast.
slicer-handoff
2joeldg/claude-mods
Hands models to the right slicer: full-spectrum (Snapmaker U1) files Claude tries to open in Bambu Studio go to Snapmaker Orca instead, and previous slicer windows are gently quit first so they don't pile up. /slice opens a file the same way.
standing-orders
2joeldg/claude-mods
Keeps the instructions you give Claude ("never…", "from now on…", "in this project…") as standing orders for the project or the session, offered in a band above the prompt, and hands them back to Claude after every compaction or /clear, with the active /goal. No model calls.
session-sync
3Plagemes/claude-mods
Coordinates sessions working on the same repo: file leases against conflicts, overlap warnings and hand-offs.
