How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

FAQ
What is downrange?
A band, pane, and /downrange table: progress, ETA, and last output for Claude Code background shells and Monitor watches, tool activity for subagents, state for workflows, and the next /loop wakeup. It is a mod for Claude Code, from dot-agi/downrange on GitHub.
What can the downrange mod access?
Its widest reach is "writes or runs" (runs processes, reads files, reads mod state, persists state, draws). It sees classic hooks, Bash calls, Monitor calls, Agent calls, Workflow calls, ScheduleWakeup calls, TaskStop calls, every tool call, every prompt. It draws in AbovePrompt, Pane. Like any mod, it runs with your permissions.
How do I install downrange?
Inside Claude Code (v2.1.287 or later), run /plugin marketplace add dot-agi/downrange and then /plugin install downrange@downrange.

doom-pane
speti4/doom-pane
The original DOOM in a pane with nothing to install: id's engine (doomgeneric, GPL-2) compiled to JavaScript runs inside the mod, the shareware episode and Freedoom Phase 1 ship with the plugin, the picture is half-block pixels on a Raster. /doom opens it; w a s d move, q e strafe, f fires, u uses, m opens the menu. Your own IWAD plays too, split into 2 MiB parts. Saves live in the plugin store.
draft-pane
meganemura/draft-pane
A pane beside the transcript that shows the model's newest open draft and sends your comments on it, span by span, as one prompt.
doctrine
scottcrosby-securebine/doctrine-skills
An execution posture for substantial agent work: parallel agents in phases and waves, adversarial red-teaming, looping until confident, ruthless simplicity. Fourteen skills: a shared doctrine, wrappers for coding, web design (the gauntlet loop), debugging, auditing, documentation sweeps, deep research, document writing, and project and epic tracking (doctrine-project), plus doctrine-backup, doctrine-handoff, doctrine-resume and doctrine-primer for session continuity across cleared sessions, and doctrine-pane for an interactive terminal session in a pane the user watches and can take over. Composes with (and degrades gracefully without) Matt Pocock's engineering skills, superpowers, codex, ponytail, and Claude Design. Two prerequisites do not degrade, and both refuse rather than falling back to a weaker version of themselves: doctrine-gauntlet needs Playwright, because its critics judge rendered output — without a browser its harness refuses to run rather than report a pass — and doctrine-pane needs herdr, because an interactive session nobody can watch has no purpose. The other twelve skills need nothing installed.
drop-thumb
i-noma-ru/claude-drop-thumb
Shows a chip and a card (thumbnail, file name, size, original path) above the prompt for each image dropped onto it. Thumbnails on macOS; the chip and card also on Windows.
docker-pane
lucasleandro08/claude-mods
A Docker chip above the prompt and a Dracula-themed containers pane grouped by compose project: ports, health, Start/Stop/Restart by container name, logs and compose Recreate in the app's Terminal, and a warning when a container is older than your last git checkout.
drunk
Aaravkataria24/aarav-mods
Give Claude a /shot. It gets tipsy, then drunk, then wasted. It still does the work. Mostly.
