# LinkedIn HDR Logo

Make the white parts of a logo render brighter than the display's normal white (a real HDR glow) and save it in the only format LinkedIn's pipeline preserves.

## Why this specific format

LinkedIn re-encodes every uploaded image. Gain-map HDR JPEGs (what Photoshop/Camera Raw export: an MPF second image plus XMP-hdrgm metadata) lose their HDR because LinkedIn discards MPF and XMP segments. What LinkedIn keeps is the ICC color profile. So the trick is a plain 8-bit progressive JPEG whose pixels are PQ-encoded and whose embedded ICC profile is "Rec2020 Gamut with PQ Transfer" (bundled in `assets/rec2020pq.icc`). Browsers and phones treat it as an HDR image, and it passes through LinkedIn intact. This was verified against a live LinkedIn-processed logo (Metaview, August 2026).

Do not "improve" the output by re-saving it with other tools; any re-save that drops or replaces the ICC profile kills the effect.

## Input requirements

The skill expects a ready file: a square JPG or PNG with a solid background (no transparency). If the input is not square or has transparent pixels, the script stops with a clear error; relay it and ask the user for a flattened square version rather than trying to fix the file yourself. If the input is already HDR (a Camera Raw HDR export with a gain map is fine as input, since only its base SDR image is read; but a file already tagged Rec2020/PQ is rejected), ask for the original SDR logo.
