How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

trail
thats2easyyy/claude-trail
A side pane that tells you what happened in a long conversation: what was done in a few words, what is waiting on you with the command or link to act on it, what Claude made, and what you asked. Uses no tokens while closed. /trail
triage-gate
StellaLunaSousa/triage-gate
Triages each message with a small model before the main model runs, and asks (native modal) whether to switch model/effort when another one fits better and the switch pays off.
trail
smhasan-yad/claude-mod-trail
A side pane of every file Claude reads or changes this session, in any folder or drive, lit up live (reads purple, writes orange) with +/- line counts. Watches tool calls only: no model calls, no tokens. /trail opens it.
trial-run
ilovepixelart/trial-run-mod
Puts risky shell commands on trial: a prosecutor, a defense and a judge argue in a pane. A guilty verdict stops the command; an acquittal leaves it to your own permission rules.
