How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

tests-lock
domini-code/tests-lock
Stops Claude from editing the signed tests in test/contrato/ and warns when a shell command changes them
think-first
shawnclybor/think-first
Makes Claude run a sequential-thinking step before a write (one step covers 10 minutes), and again before retrying a write that just failed. Uses the sequential-thinking server you already run, so the check also works inside cloud Cowork tasks.
terminal-tab-title
mtami/terminal-tab-title
Names the terminal tab your coding agent runs in from your first prompt: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and opencode, across tmux, zellij, screen, herdr, WezTerm, kitty, Konsole, ConEmu, iTerm2, Terminal.app, Windows Terminal, Ghostty and more
thread-pulse
max06/claude-mods
Makes running tool calls visible: live cards for every shell command with output as it runs (Command Watch), a status line for long calls, and a live line in Claude project thread checklists.
sudo-askpass
CoderDayton/vii-mods
Lets Claude run sudo commands: each one opens a password dialog on your screen that shows the command. Your password goes straight to sudo; Claude never sees it.
throttle
hereshecodes/claude-mods
A motorcycle-themed activity gauge: the status line revs up with how many tool calls happen this turn.
