How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

More context & usage mods
mod-manager
2mako-code/gobworks
The Gobworks manager: browse every mod by category, see what each does and costs, turn mods and presets on or off, and check them. Best standalone in any terminal (gobworks); inside a running Claude Code session too (/mods).
session-receipt
12VedantAndhale/claude-pro-kit
/receipt opens a pane with the exact tokens every turn of the session spent (uncached, cached, output, subagents) and the costliest turns. No tokens spent.
statusline
HarzerHeribert/claude-modpack
One line under the prompt: the model and its effort, how full the context is, the plan's 5-hour and 7-day use with their resets, and what other mods put on it (smart-compact's ready or cold).
skies
21ersinkoc/claude-mods
KOZMOS Skies: the session's weather above the prompt. Tool failures, context and rate-limit pressure, stalls and the local hour make clear skies, clouds, rain, storms with lightning, fog, a starry night, or a rainbow after a storm clears; an animated scene and a forecast line. /skies toggles it.
stall-watch
Joseph-Ayoub/claude-mods
Auto-retries transient API failures (capped), pins a usage-limit countdown, and can resume after a limit reset (opt-in via /stall-watch).
subagent-ledger
12KilimcininKorOglu/claude-code-mods
Shows each subagent of the session with its turns, time, model and tokens, the costliest first, yellow while it runs and green once it answered, and marks one that passed the token limit.
