How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

More context & usage mods
agent-usage-guard
94rbartoli/agent-usage-guard
A Claude Code mod that holds subagent fan-out, heavy-context prompts and retry loops before they spend your usage window. It reads your plan's usage, counts agents across every session, and asks in Claude Code's own dialog.
transcripted-live
90r3dbars/transcripted
The meeting Transcripted is recording, inside Claude Code: Claude gets the call as context, a live dashboard (now, asked of you, action items), prompt suggestions for questions aimed at you, and an after-call wrap-up that gains speaker names once Transcripted saves the meeting. Needs the transcripted-live helper running.
effortless
330HeyCubit/effortless
Sets the reasoning effort for every prompt automatically, shows it under the prompt box, and counts down how long the prompt cache stays warm.

Spec-driven development and context engineering for AI coding agents, backed by project context in Git.
winnow
115GhalebDweikat/winnow
A calibrated context sieve for Claude Code. Every large tool result is judged by a System One model before it enters context; irrelevant blocks are replaced with a summary and a recall key.
token-weather-usage
26augiefra/claude-mods
One line above the prompt: context tokens with their weather, a bar per recent prompt, your 5-hour and 7-day limits against the time elapsed, the prompt cache with its time left, the session cost with the last prompt's share in dollars and in points of the 5-hour limit, the subagents running, and a one-click pill for the GOs Claude proposes. Labels in English, French or Russian. After Token Weather (Anthropic, Apache-2.0) and the ideas of usage-meter (HolyGrail) and prompt-cache-control (Daniel San).
