How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

modal-meter
2joeldg/claude-mods
Watches your Modal apps from the CLI, in projects that use Modal: running apps and containers on the status line, a toast when one has been up too long, today's spend where the CLI reports it, and a pane to stop an app (after you confirm). One session polls for all the open ones. No model calls.
agent-spend
Gat0rRex/claude-mods
/agent-spend opens a pane listing each subagent's type, model, tokens and estimated cost against the session's total.
context-restore
12KilimcininKorOglu/claude-code-mods
Hands a skill or command call the current text of its file when the file changed on disk after the session loaded it, and hands the model a rules file or the global CLAUDE.md that changed on disk.
cache-clock
thorstenalpers/claude-code-mods
A prompt-cache line under your status line: minutes left while warm, and how many tokens the next message re-caches once cold. /cache-clock setup adds it.
tach
DJPalefaceSD/rostech-mods
A tachometer above the prompt: how fast you are burning tokens, over a window you choose.
context-forecast
mercynet/my-claude-mods
Forecast of the context window with a clear-or-compact score, usage limits, cross-session calibration and guided compaction.
