How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

What is hud?

How do I install hud?
Inside Claude Code (v2.1.287 or later), run /plugin marketplace add oleksandrkodua/qa-mods and then /plugin install hud@qa-mods.
More context & usage mods
token-optimizer
2.8kalexgreensh/token-optimizer
The Token Optimizer status bar on its own, for its tests. It ships inside the token-optimizer plugin.
ruflo-metaharness
80kruvnet/ruflo
MetaHarness integration for ruflo — surfaces score/genome/mint/mcp-scan/threat-model via skills; pairs with @metaharness/router (ADR-148/149) for cost-optimal model routing; honors ADR-150's architectural constraint that MetaHarness remains an optional augmentation, never a required runtime dependency. As a mod (ADR-445): confirms flywheel promotion, keeps secrets out of inputs, /metaharness-mod, and a status file the console shows
context-inspector
1.1kYeonwooSung/my-claude-code-mods
Context waste analyzer for Claude Code: what fills the window, re-reads, near-duplicate outputs, what compaction kept, advice
ruflo-loop-workers
80kruvnet/ruflo
Cache-aware /loop workers and CronCreate background automation — wraps 5 hooks_worker-* MCP tools (list/dispatch/status/detect/cancel) and exposes 12 background worker triggers (ultralearn, optimize, consolidate, predict, audit, map, preload, deepdive, document, refactor, benchmark, testgaps). As a mod (ADR-445): a per-session dispatch cap, no secrets in worker context, /loop-mod, and a status file the console shows
ruflo-mods
80kruvnet/ruflo
ruflo as a Claude Code mod (function hooks, ADR-404): in-process prompt routing, edit learning signals, tighten-only tool checks from ruflo policy, the cost-tracker budget ladder, a mod trust gate for newly installed mods, and the $.ruflo noun other mods compose their status with. Opt-in and removable: the classic hook-handler hooks stay the default and take every event back whenever the mod is not loaded.
jev-auto-compact
444notque/vexjoy-agent
Jev-powered verbatim compaction: once context reaches 60%, prunes stale tool calls with zero generation. Skips (never falls back to the LLM summarizer) when nothing is prunable; records evidence for learning.db.
