How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

More context & usage mods
haiku-compact
kjhq/haiku-compact
Squish your context with Haiku when the prompt cache goes cold, so your main model re-caches a short summary instead of the whole transcript. One line above the prompt shows up only when the cache is cold, says what a squish saves, then what it saved.
handover
pradyb/claude-mods
/handover writes a handover note from the conversation (served from the prompt cache), saves it under ~/.claude/projects/<project>/handovers/<session-title>.md, clears the session and continues from the note in a fresh context. Suggests it when context passes a threshold.
guardian-cache
prompteafacil-hub/mods-claude-code
Muestra cuánto le queda al caché, el contexto y los límites, con botón de traspaso de sesión.
hawkeye
akkaradej/hawkeye
Bands above the prompt: session status dot, prompt-cache countdown, context ring, Reborn (continue in a new session), Suggest, Auto effort and auto-answered recommendations
godmode-mods
BattleSheep85/godmode
GodMode run monitor: checklist and worker status, 5-hour spend meter, and the checklist kept across compaction.
heads-up
soenkenils/claude-code-mods
Watches the running session and shows a heads-up when something is off: failing tools or tests in a row, edits outside the project, a context spike, or a run that stalls.
