How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

3baselane-sh/mods
Asks only before harsh or disaster commands: destructive infra, git and SQL, piping downloads into a shell, sudo, leaking or committing secrets. Reads git. The quiet choice for daily work.
marcador-sessao
inematds/inema-mods
Marcadores de sessão: guarda um ponto da conversa com nome e resumo, e cola o resumo no prompt para retomar (/marcar <nome>, /marcar abrir, /marcar apagar <nome>)
secret-guard
2joeldg/claude-mods
Holds back a prompt that looks like it carries a secret (API keys, tokens, access-key pairs, private keys, passwords) before it reaches the transcript, puts it back in the box, and offers to save the secret as an env var in ~/.zshrc and send $NAME instead. No model calls.
rulebook-guard
thorstenalpers/claude-code-mods
Writing and git rules: replaces em dashes in prose, and asks before git commit --amend, an unformatted push, or personal info in notes and commits.
shared-edit-guard
aecheman27-gif/claude-mods
Asks before Claude edits a file that another tool (Gemini, an editor, another agent) changed in the last few minutes, through Edit/Write, a shell command that writes, or an MCP write tool. A Cancel keeps asking until you say Edit anyway or the change ages out.
secret-scrub
pradyb/claude-mods
Catches API keys, tokens and private keys in the prompt you are about to send, and masks or blocks them before they reach the model.
