How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

token-weather-usage
23augiefra/claude-mods
One line above the prompt: context tokens with their weather, a bar per recent prompt, your 5-hour and 7-day limits against the time elapsed, the prompt cache with its time left, the session cost with the last prompt's share in dollars and in points of the 5-hour limit, and the subagents running. Labels in English, French or Russian. After Token Weather (Anthropic, Apache-2.0) and the ideas of usage-meter (HolyGrail) and prompt-cache-control (Daniel San).
desktop-statusline
19centminmod/claude-plugins
Status band above the prompt in the Claude Desktop app's Code tab: folder, git branch and state, session age, prompt count and cost, a context meter, 5-hour and weekly plan usage limit meters with reset countdowns, last-turn model, duration and cache hit rate, idle time against the prompt-cache TTL, compactions, server-side tool use, subagents by state, and one row per workflow run with live done/failed counts. A notification (or toast) at 80% and 95% of a usage limit. Draws only on the desktop surface, so a CLI statusLine is left alone.
project-sentinel
57Arjun0014/project-sentinel
Project Sentinel keeps long Claude Code runs on track: a status bar, the Control Room panel, Context Autopilot (automatic handoff to a fresh context), Cache Guardian (the prompt cache in view, kept warm on request), Operations (work queued for later, decisions Claude leaves for you, watchers that wake a parked run, a Cold Resume Guard), permission categories that ask or deny, a run chain, Frontier Max, a lazy-exit guard, a model router, subagent limits, Focus view, machine load and Kit, an optional pixel companion.
