How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

usage-limits
3AbhiramDwivedi/claude-ops
Keeps the 5-hour and weekly limit windows, their burn rate, a run-out projection, context fill, session cost and prompt-cache drops in a dim line above the prompt
relay
21ersinkoc/claude-mods
KOZMOS Relay: the API latency lab in a sidebar. Every model request of the main loop and its subagents with latency, time to first token, model, effort, input/output/cache tokens, tokens per second and stop reason; a latency histogram, tokens/sec over time, model mix, p50/p95, the slowest five and cache-read share per request. /relay toggles it.
savings-meter
3noash-xrc/claude-tools
Keeps a ledger of what output-trimmer, subagent-router and auto-effort save, shown by /savings
ctx-mod
5wdsewdser-bit/claude-code-mods
Proactive context management: a task ledger, a searchable history and zero-summary window switches.
effort-router
3nextscape/ns-mods
Picks low/medium/high/xhigh effort per prompt for Opus/Sonnet/Haiku 5.5+ and Fable/Mythos 5.1+ by how uncertain and costly the work is, raising it mid-turn when a turn runs long; a typed /effort applies at once
agent-governor
aecheman27-gif/claude-mods
Watches subagents in long, fan-out-heavy sessions: a [GOV] band while agents run (count, peak, tokens) and a toast when too many run at once or an agent or the session goes over its token budget. Warn-only by default; /governor caps on asks before over-limit spawns and stops over-budget agents, /governor route picks a model per agent type.
