From the README

claude-code-ask-gemini

A Claude Code slash command that delegates a prompt to Google's Gemini 3 Flash Preview via the gemini CLI and returns the answer inline.
🇹🇷 Türkçe açıklama aşağıda.

Why?

Claude is excellent at reasoning, code, and English copywriting — but its tokenizer is heavily English-biased. For non-English copywriting (especially Turkish and other morphologically rich languages), Gemini tends to produce more natural, idiomatic, context-aware text.

Instead of switching tools, this command lets you stay inside Claude Code and call out to Gemini whenever you want a second opinion or a better-localized text.

Typical use cases:
- Turkish (or other non-English) copywriting, marketing text, social posts
- Localization that needs cultural nuance, not literal translation
- Long-form content where Gemini's prose feels more natural in your target language
- Quick "second opinion" on phrasing without leaving your editor

Requirements

- Claude Code installed
- Gemini CLI installed and authenticated

- Access to the gemini-3-flash-preview model (edit the command file to use a different model if needed)

Installation

Or just copy the single file:

Restart Claude Code (or open a new session) — the command becomes available immediately.

Usage

Example:

Claude Code will run the underlying shell command and stream Gemini's answer back into the conversation.

How it works

The command file (commands/ask_gemini.md) instructs Claude Code to execute:

- $ARGUMENTS — everything you typed after /ask_gemini
- printf '%s' — passes the prompt safely via stdin (no shell quoting / injection issues)
- -p "" — non-interactive mode; the actual prompt is read from stdin
- -m gemini-3-flash-preview — model selection (change this to use a different Gemini model)
- --yolo —…

How custom slash commands work

  • A slash command is a Markdown file. Put it in ~/.claude/commands (for you) or .claude/commands (for a project), and it becomes /file-name inside Claude Code. Claude Code now treats commands and skills the same way, so .claude/skills/name/SKILL.md also works.
  • Arguments you type after the command are passed in as $ARGUMENTS.
  • If the repo is a plugin marketplace, installing it from /plugin adds the commands for you.
