How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

cache-timer
1Sanexxxx777/claude-cache-timer
A countdown in the prompt footer: under the hint line on the terminal, left of the model picker on the desktop: time left on the prompt cache and how much of the last request it served, or, when the cache was written again while it should have been warm, why (a model switch, an effort change); after a model switch, before anything is sent, what the other model will write. In Ghostty a big cache also raises a macOS notification before it expires and on a rebuild nobody asked for. Olive while there is plenty, warmer at 10, 5 and 2 minutes left (scaled down for a 5-minute cache). The lifetime follows Claude Code's own rules: 1 hour on a subscription, 5 minutes on an API key or usage credits.
cc-contextbar
1evggzzz/cc-contextbar
Battery-style context bar for Claude Code, drawn as a live band above the prompt: real context %, session cost, and quota windows that follow the surface — z.ai quota in the terminal, Claude-plan rate limits in the desktop Code tab. Also still ships the classic statusline script.
cache-timer
1MarekBartczak/claude-cache-timer
Live countdown above the prompt until your session's prompt cache expires, with an optional keep-alive that keeps it warm while you're away
cc-jev-pruner
1masseater/cc-jev-teacher
Keeps Claude Code's context small with a decision model on OpenRouter: compacts without a summary by dropping tool calls the task no longer needs, trims long Bash output to the parts that matter, and finds the code behind a behavior with Jevgrep
cache-timer
1EricJamie/claude-code-mods
A countdown to when the conversation's prompt cache expires, in the prompt footer before the model name
