How Claude Code mods work
- A mod is a plugin with a JavaScript or TypeScript module that runs inside Claude Code (version 2.1.287 or later). It can draw panes beside the transcript, a band above the prompt, buttons and toasts, restyle the spinner and tool rows, and watch or rewrite tool calls and prompts.
- It installs like any plugin: add its marketplace with /plugin marketplace add owner/repo, then /plugin install name@marketplace.
- Check what a mod can reach before installing: it runs with your permissions. Reach goes from drawing only, to reading files, to writing files or running processes, to the network. Run claude plugin validate on a clone to list its hooks and calls without running it.
- Turn one off from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode to skip every customization for a session.

More workflow mods
auto-session-name
tartinerlabs/claude-code-mods
Names each session from its first prompt and re-checks the name every few prompts as the work moves on, so it is easy to find in /resume.
merge-lane
Joseph-Ayoub/claude-mods
One merge lane per repo across concurrent sessions: a priority queue, a Bash merge gate, auto-release on merge, and a wake-up for the next session.
quiet-bash
3schreibse/claude-code-mods
One-line tool rows, tool output hidden, inline PNG thumbnails; /quiet shows everything, /thumb shows a PNG
prompt-shield
boxiaolanya2008/claudecode-plus-mod
Strip invisible fingerprint characters from outgoing prompts and audit what the model actually receives.
done-blink
3yash-gadodia/claude-mods
Blinks the iTerm2 tab orange when a turn lands, for up to three minutes or until you type again, so a finished session is obvious from any other tab.
quiet-prompts
pomesaka/dotclaude
Draws a prompt that another plugin submitted on its own (a reminder, a notice) as one line in the transcript, without the engine's framing; ctrl+o still shows it in full
